Learning to walk again

Dear beloved family, friends and global community,
We are reaching out to you for significant assistance and support.
If ever in my life I have needed help, it is now. Please, watch & read on…
You can watch a 2 min clip on YouTube, covering the past five months following my accident, recovery and amazing progress.
Hi, I’m Joseph, a Farmer, married to Fey, psychologist and full time SuperMom. Together we have 2 little girls, Shaya and Naomi.
We have a small farm on which we grow Olive trees, seasonal vegetables and free range chickens.
During the spring and summer we host small group events out in the field by a small pond I excavated.
It is my job to upkeep the farm, a job that requires a lot of physical work.
On September 18, 2022, I had a terrible accident. While working on the farm I rolled over with my tractor.

I woke up 3 days later with 8 broken vertebrae in my lower to mid spine, a broken left leg and more than a dozen broken ribs.
I had undergone an 11-hour spinal surgery and a 5-hour leg surgery.
The doctors gave me little hope of walking again. I had no movement in my legs from the knees down and extensive neurological deficiencies in my lower back, buttocks and the back of my legs.

I spent 2 months healing in a hospital bed and I was just released from a two-month stay at a live-in physical therapy rehabilitation center.
Unfortunately, that is all my insurance covered.
I am glad to say I have come a long way, and I can see a future where I will walk again.
I may still need a wheelchair for longer distances, and special leg braces and crutches for assistance when I walk. But with a little luck and a lot of hard work, I will walk unassisted.
To reach my goal of walking again I will have to continue physical therapy in a private facility. Typically, recovery from spinal injuries takes 2-3 years, so, for the next 12 months, at the very least, rehabilitation is going to be my JOB.
All donations will be used to pay for one year’s worth of physical therapy sessions, medical care and medical equipment.
Intensive physical therapy is critical for my recovery, without it, the chances of functional unassisted walking are minimal.
In my mind, I am holding an image of me Dancing with my little girls.
With your help, I can make this dream come true. Again.
Please find it in your heart to contribute generously, and spread the word as widely as possible.
From the bottom of my heart
thank you so much
love
Joseph, Fey and our baby girls
