Joe Jennings CWLP Springfield/Chatham, IL Memorial

On July 11th 2019, we lost a truly special man. Joseph Andrew Jennings passed away at the age of 37 after fighting the battle of a lifetime against a rare but aggressive bile duct cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma). Through it all, he was optimistic and humble. He always took the time to dedicate himself to the fights of others around him and never showed the pain that we all know he carried. His smile reassured everyone around him that somehow everything would be alright.

Through it all, he had the greatest support system that a man could ask for. His wife, their two boys, and their families rearranged every aspect of their lives to ensure that Joe could focus on his fight and do what he needed to stay strong and healthy. They selflessly sacrificed everything that was important to them, for the person that needed them the most.

It is time now to show our love and support for the ones who have lost the most: Joe’s entire family, his loving wife Tanya, and their two sons Gavin (10) and Geno(8). They were blessed to share their lives with the best father and husband that one could ever have wished for. He was the husband that always cared. And the father that would always go the extra mile for his boys. He valued every single minute he spent with them and cherished every day he had on this earth.

This fund is to assist Joe’s family with any bills that will need paid for medical expenses, as well as other expenses associated with his fight against this horrible disease. We hope and plan to have fundraisers in the coming months/ years to keep the memory and spirit of Joe alive and strong. There is no doubt that he holds a special place in the hearts of everyone that knew him.

We could fill 10 pages trying to put into words all of the reasons why Joe was so special and why he is truly one of a kind, but we are not going to do that. If you are on this page, you already know it. Everyone that was blessed enough to know him can say without a doubt, that he was truly special.

We encourage everyone to share your thoughts and memories in the comments of this page, so that his love and joy can continue to be spread through out our lives. His spirit will continue to live on in all of our hearts. Thank you for your support!

Joe proudly served as a member of the Illinois Army National Guard.

He was a Journeyman Instrument Electrician for CWLP at the Dallman Generating Facility for The City of Springfield.

He was a proud union member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW 193).

He was a son, a brother, a husband, a father and a dear friend to all. He will be forever missed and never forgotten.
