My parents are Joseph and Mary Ruth Kunkel, of Union in Boone County. In the picture you see my parents with Dad's 1927 Chevy which he has worked on restoring these last 30 years. Dad will soon be 91, and mom will be turning 89 in December.
More importantly, they will be married 70 years, come November 17th.  I checked with the Census Bureau, and learned that less then 1% of couples, get to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary.
I am planning a party for them in November, to honor them on this momentous occasion of being married 70 years. They have needed care 24/7, these last 2 years. I promised them a long time ago, they would never be placed in a Nursing Home. We love taking care of them at home, but it is challenging and very costly with all the medicine and supplies that are needed daily. My father has had two bouts with cancer, a heart bypass operation, and shoulder replacement surgery. My mother has had several operations on her back due to broken bones in her lumbar spine. And recently she fell and shattered her right arm up near her shoulder socket. The hospital stays have been long and very costly. Both my parents are now at home but we must have 24/7 care for them. 
I am appealing to all friends, relatives, and interested parties to come to our aid so we can continue to give my parents the best home care possible. This is the purpose of the Go Fund Me that has been set up. If you would like to assist in this endeavor, please do. Even if you can only offer prayers and send a card, it will be gratefully acknowledged.
