On February 14, 2019, we lost a brother, a son, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, a friend, and so much more.
On February 14, 2019, Josef Lavi Pessah passed away after fighting brain cancer for the prior nine months. He fought a hard battle, attempting to triumph with the help of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, a ketogenic diet, alternative medicine, and everything possible under the sun.
Josef had many passions and interests throughout his all too short life. Music, soccer, science, computer science and engineering, to name a few of his passions. He was a brilliant human being with a curious mind that constantly asked questions. Questions that he always strived to figure out. He was an incredibly talented musician, having played the guitar for 13 years, and to watch him play was nothing short of a privilege and a truly beautiful act of art.
The Josef L. Pessah Tikkun Olam Fund aims at keeping Josef’s memory alive and present, by helping those who share the same interests. We plan to donate to many organizations that incorporate Josef’s interests such as; music, medicine, soccer, Judaism, and computers. Whether it be donating to underprivileged schools to boost their technology departments, or funding organizations that provide children with the ability to develop their musical abilities, we intend to keep Josef in our hearts and our lives by changing the world one life at a time.
