Jose Valencia and family

I am reaching out to the community to ask for help. My husband Jose Valencia has been battling kidney disease for quite some time now. On December 17th, 2022, we were at Rock N Jump in Modesto when Jose went into cardiac arrest in front of our 2 young boys. Jose was transported by ambulance to Doctors Medical in Modesto. After arriving at the hospital Jose had a faint pulse after flat-lining for 20 minutes. He pulled through but barely breathing. Jose was placed on life support at that point. After many prayers, he pulled through. On the Friday before Christmas, he went into cardiac arrest again this time leaving him in a coma. Jose is now out of the coma and at UCFS where they are running tests and scans, he is currently in heart failure and some of his scans are showing signs of possible cancer. Unfortunately, one of the possible repercussions of renal failure and hemodialysis is blood cancer.

Jose has always been a hard worker even while battling kidney failure which left him very ill. After Jose and I got married 11 years ago we moved to Oakdale where Jose helped me renovate and create a functional pet salon. We built up a strong business, but Jose’s kidney function had dwindled to 15%. We sold the business and moved Crystal falls with our family. I own Ruff House Pet Salon in Twain Harte I have built up a good clientele in the last four years but with Jose unable to work for some time now since being placed on dialysis along with all the back and forth to the hospital taking time away from work, I have found myself struggling to financially meet our basic needs. It is incredibly hard to watch my boys miss their dad and watch him detartrate, but it is ever that much more heartbreaking when I can’t come up with the money to drive down to visit him in the hospital or must question whether I can make our monthly bills.

I am asking the community along with our friends and family for their support. Prayers and positive thoughts are greatly appreciated. Any financial help would go a long way to help with the loss of income, gas to make trips to visit him in the hospital and help with the upcoming medical bills from these new medical complications he is facing.
