On July 5th, 2022, Jose was hit while driving his car on Highway 34 and Fischer Road. The police were involved in a high-speed chase with a suspect with speeds over 90+mph. The Sheriff's vehicle involved in the pursuit lost control and hit him. Jose had to be Life Flighted to the hospital in Atlanta. He has several broken bones and is resting with pain meds. Jose Teixeira and his wife Marla are both self employed carpenters and currently do not have health insurance. The vehicle they used for work was the vehicle in the accident. The vehicle is totaled (as shown in pic) and they will need to purchase a new one. He is currently in the hospital awaiting surgery and will have to endure several months of future physical therapy. So, due to the broken bones, he will not be able to lift or work for several months. I am hoping we can ease some of that financial strain by raising money to help them. Please help my family get the financial help they need!
