We are the Lopez family and this is our dad/grandpa Jose Rafael Lopez. Last year on March 14, 2022 he had a stroke in the middle of the night and was hospitalized for 2 weeks. He then was taken to a rehab facility for about 3 months to continue therapy with hopes of him being able to walk and talk again. In June he was finally able to come home but he still was not able to walk or talk, he laid in a hospital bed but in the comfort of his own house where my grandma took care of him. On March 4, 2023 we had a little gathering to welcome Baby Lopez to our family. It was just immediate family so my grandpa can be a part of something since he wasn’t able to go anywhere and give grandma the opportunity as well since she refused to leave his side. He was so happy seeing everyone and seemed to enjoy the company of our family. That night he began to have a seizure and got rushed to the hospital. Ever since then he’s been at the hospital first couple of nights he continued having seizures and throughout the time and ran into different complications. Unfortunately, we had to say our last good byes. On March 27, 2023 he passed away.

In case you never met him many will vouch that he was the most giving man and so fun to be around. He loved to dance, sing, play jokes, the swapmeet, his truck, casinos, his wife and his family. Papa was a kid at heart.

The only reason we have created this is to allow friends and family members that have been asking where they can send support funds. We all greatly appreciate the support, condolences and love we have been receiving all around. There is no words to that can express our feelings but we wanted to give everyone that has wanted to help the opportunity to do so. Thank you all - The Lopez Family
