Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I'm reaching out during one of the most difficult times our family has ever faced. My husband, who received a life-saving lung transplant in 2017, was recently admitted to the ER on August 2nd, 2025, due to severe complications including vomiting, nausea, and extreme fatigue. Doctors diagnosed pneumonia and a dangerous cervical stenosis that required emergency spinal surgery.
Following the surgery, his condition worsened. He developed tachycardia and anemia, and tragically suffered three strokes. These complications extended his stay in the ICU and led to his transfer to the transplant unit at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he’s been hospitalized for 23 days and counting.
Now, he’s been referred to a specialized hospital for acute physical rehabilitation. While we’re grateful for every step forward, the financial burden of these ongoing treatments, hospital stays, and rehabilitation is overwhelming.
We are doing everything we can to stay strong and hopeful, but we simply cannot do this alone.
We’re asking for your support—whether it’s through a donation, a share, or a kind word. Every contribution will go directly toward covering medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and the essentials needed to help my husband heal and regain his strength.
Thank you for standing with us. Your generosity means more than words can express.
With love and gratitude,
Isabel Leighton and family.
