Jose Gallegos Funeral Fund

My father Jose Refugio Gallegos Limón passed away Thursday 8/30/18 suddenly at the age of 54.   He was a loving father and will be greatly missed by his wife, children & cat.  He was a kind, generous man who was loved and respected by many. He recently became a grandfather, but unfortunately was never able to formally meet his new born grandson before he passed.
 
My dad always appeared to be in good health until a month ago when he started feeling ill.   He ended up in the hospital diagnosed with a very rare extremely aggressive inoperable cancer that has attacked his liver and spread to other parts of his body. No local hospitals were capable of dealing with such a rare cancer and it was sent off to the Mayo Clinic for further testing.  Unfortunately after weeks even the Mayo Clinic could not determine the actual cancer, it was the ruled out as CUP (Cancer of Unknown Primary).   He spent the last weeks of his life in the ICU.    As you can imagine just the medical expenses we are facing are considerable.    Our family was not prepared to lose a husband and father so soon and we could use some help with the funeral expenses.   Anything you can contribute would be much appreciated.  No amount is too small.  

We welcome comments or memories that people would like to share.   We very much thank you for your support.  The funds will be handled by me, his daughter and youngest child, and will be used to cover the costs of his funeral & memorial services.   I’ve included a few photos of my father in happier times.  Thank you for your time and consideration.

Mi padre falleció repentinamente el 30 de Agosto a los 54 años. Era un padre amoroso y su esposa e hijos lo extrañarán mucho. Era un hombre amable y generoso que era amado y respetado por muchos. Recientemente se convirtió en abuelo, pero desafortunadamente no pudo conocerlo antes de su muerte.


Mi padre siempre parecía gozar de buena salud hasta hace un mes cuando comenzó a sentirse enfermo. Terminó en el hospital diagnosticado con un cáncer muy raro que atacó su hígado, y se extendió a otras partes de su cuerpo. Pasó las últimas semanas de su vida en la unidad de cuidados intensivos. Como se puede imaginar, solo los gastos médicos y de funeral que enfrentamos son considerables. Nuestra familia no estaba preparada para perder un esposo y un padre tan pronto. Cualquier cantidad que puedan contribuir sería muy apreciada. Ninguna cantidad es demasiado pequeña.
