Jo's continuing saga of debt and illness

"NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION."
Jo Holcomb is ashamed and embarrassed to return to GoFundMe.
I have worked since I was 15 years old. I've done everything from teaching art in a community center, earning two graduate degrees, working (successfully) as a librarian, directing a library program for the blind, serving as a human resource director, a caterer, a church educator, a dramaturg, a university professor and editor. The possibility of any future independent employment has dried up. That and some recent serious medical issues now restrict me to my monthly Social Security payment of $2,701. I've had to sell my car. The generosity of those who donated to my last GoFundMe effort managed to clear all of my debts except one. Now, that debt because of the actions of our currrent administration, has increased to close to $25,000 with a monthly payment of almost $900. Even with faith that Social Security will survive, I'm in an untenable position and may not survive without declaring bankruptcy. If I am able to clear this one remaining debt, the monthly SS payment would cover the costs of my mortgage payment, health care premiums, medications and groceries. My dreams of facing the end of my life with a modicum of comfort and grace are gone and I need help.
