Happy holidays everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to become acquainted with our cause for our sister, Johanna Torres.
The past several months, Johanna has been privately struggling with breast cancer.
Her challenging journey began August 23rd, 2020, with a mammogram and ultrasound due to a lump she felt in her left breast. Ironically, a biopsy procedure of both breasts produced positive cancerous results in her seemingly “healthy” right breast. Johanna was devastated to hear this disturbing news.
On September 11th, Johanna was diagnosed with DCIS (Microinvasive/Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Stage 1 - HER2 positive) and has been following the doctors orders ever since.
After consulting with numerous doctors and surgeons, conducting blood work and genetic testing + additional biopsies and MRIs, Johanna’s Breast Surgical Oncologists and Medical Oncologists agreed upon conducting a Lumpectomy surgery to rid Johanna of breast of cancer.
One week after Johanna’s Lumpectomy surgery, her surgery pathology report revealed additional cancerous areas in her breast. On November 19th, she endured a Double Mastectomy in an attempt to remove all cancer and lower her risk of the cancer returning.
Johanna is four weeks into surgery recovery and will soon have to endure chemotherapy. She is burdened with mounting medical and treatment bills, some of which her medical insurance does not cover.
Today, we humbly ask if you can donate to Johanna’s cause - her recovery and medical (non insurance covered) treatment, so she may continue to health and beat cancer. Any donation would truly be appreciated - big or small. We appreciate your kindness in what is already a difficult time. Your generosity and giving spirit is appreciated by Johanna and all who love her
❤️
Thank you, all and we wish you a peaceful and loving holiday season.
