Team For Kids NYC Marathon 2018
Dear Friends/Family,
As you know, I promised to run the NYC Marathon every year until the day that I die in memory of my son Mateo. And I have done it so far, since 2009.
This year I’ve decided to run the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon with Team for Kids and I am asking for your support of their inspiring mission. Team for Kids is a team of adult runners who raise funds for critical services provided by New York Road Runners youth programs. These programs empower youth development and encourage healthy habits via running and character-building programs across the country.
What does your donation do?
• $500 Provides 50 kids with transportation to a weekend road race
• $250 Gifts 25 kids a cross country race experience
• $26.20 Gives one of our Mighty Milers an entire year of running
Whether you are a runner, have worked with children, or have kids yourself, I hope you will join me to further this great cause!

One of the most rewarding marathon experiences for me was in 2016 when I ran as an Achilles International guide for Lorena, a wheelchair athlete who I proudly now call my friend. - Is this money to pay for your trip to NYC?
No, the money raised here is 100% for Team for Kids. I still have to pay for my trip to NYC, my entry to the marathon and any other personal expenses with my own money.
- What happens if you can’t raise all the $2,620?
Well I know with all the help of friends and family I’ll reach the goal. But if for some reason I can’t, then I’ll pay the difference with my own money because I’m committed to this goal!
- How much is everyone expected to donate?
You can donate as little as $10 or $20. Every dollar counts. If you can afford it, you could help a lot with a generous donation of $50, $100 or more. Thanks!
