Hello, my name is Jorge Lopez I am 31 years. I am here because last year on 9/24/2025, while waiting for the bus, I was assaulted and shot by a guy wanting my 16-dollar cross necklace that was given to me since my high school graduation by my mother. I was rush to the hospital, and during the processes of saving my life, I lost 25% of my stomach, lost the tail end of my pancreas, and my intestine was damaged. on top of that I lost my spleen. when waking up I was also told that the bullet was one inch away from hitting my heart and the bullet was found also 1 inch away from my lower spine. During recovery at the hospital, I went from 230 pounds to 170 pounds. While coming out of the hospital I was losing weight rapidly and found out by my GI that my pancreas wasn’t working properly anymore and will have to be on enzymes for life while I eat. I am very lucky and grateful that God gave me a second chance at life. I do view life a lot different now and as for the guys who shot me, he was arrested and found thanks to a good Samaritan at the time of the shooting. thank you for reading my story and also thank to all my friends and family and those who donate and read this thank you.
