Jorge Ortega Memorial Fundraiser

On behalf of the family of Jorge Ortega, this fundraiser is started in order to cover the cost of funeral and celebration of life services.

Jorge was taken from us all last week. His sudden passing has been tragic and surreal, and in this time of need and heartbreak his friends and loved ones are asking for any and all donations to go directly to the Ortega family to help lighten the financial pressure of necessary services. Jorge was a friend to all - full of laughter, life, and energy. Known for instances of literally giving his friends the shirt off his back, always checking in and making sure everyone was happy and having fun, and a borderline psychotic love for the Yankees, half of the central coast had a story about an encounter with Jorge and none could help but smile when they told it. A son to Guadalupe and Francisco Ortega, brother to Ulises and Penny, and uncle to Gael, we hope to raise enough to assure that Jorge's family can focus on grieving and remembering him and not worry about the costs and planning of his services.

A big thank you on behalf of the Ortegas to everyone who reached out to Jorge in his last days and made sure he knew he was loved, and also to those who have offered their condolences directly to the family. Celebration of life to be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Arroyo Grande on January 14th, 2022 at 11:30am. Reception to follow. We hope to see anyone who can make it. Until then - hip hip!
