Jorge Tellez - Deliverista Injury Fund

My name is Jorge Tellez and I migranted from Veracruz to New York City in 2022. I am the father to two beautiful daughters and son who live in Veracruz with my wife.

I came to this city looking for better opportunities and a better life for my family. Since I arrived, I have worked as a Deliverista with Grubhub in Astoria, Queens.

I am a honest man that has been working very hard, delivering food, groceries and medicine to my neighbors in Astoria, Sunny Side and Corona in Queens. On June 5, I was working in Astoria and while working I got hit by car that left me injuried and unable to work. My left leg got severely broken and I recently went through a surgery. The doctors said that it will take 4 to 5 four months for me to be able to recover and can walk. In the mean time, I won't be able to work and I mostly depend on my job as a Deliveristas to pay my rent, food and to support my family.

I am not use to asking for money, but I am left with no other option then to seek for community support. I will deeply appreciate any support into my injury recovery fund.
