We are looking for donations to help Jorge (Jorgie) Ruiz and his young family with medical and personal expenses after a very unexpected and tragic event. Early Sunday morning on Nov 3rd Jorgie was walking on a walking path on Ellsworth and Riggs and was struck by an impaired driver who lost control of his vehicle. He has suffered a traumatic brain injury, was medically sedated and on life support for two days to prevent further brain damage. He also sustained multiple fractures and lacerations throughout his body. At this time it is unknown how long he will remain in the ICU, but he is staying strong and recognizes his wife and family that have been at his bedside throughout his entire time in the ICU. Jorgie takes pride in being an aircraft mechanic, sole provider, loving husband to Miranda and very devoted father to one year old Miguel. He is a Godly man and his faith has carried him through many trials in his young life. His smile lights up the room. Due to Jorgie's critical condition Miranda has been by his side and has only been able to see their son through video calls. We want to meet the immediate needs, as well as any future expenses this little family will have as it is uncertain what long term rehab and issues he may face due to the brain injury. We are looking to cover at least one year of their expenses so that Miranda can focus on Jorgie's long road to recovery.
