JORGE COTAL & FAMILY LOST EVERYTHING IN FIRE. HELP

Hey friends!

My heart is absolutely shattered by the news that our friend Jorge Cotal from Itata Valley in Chile, was just devastated by a wildfire that took his entire vineyard (including old vines planted by his family over 150 years ago), his house, his parents' house, his gardens, and every single thing he owned.

The fire also destroyed his warehouse, where all of his wines in the process of maturation were held + his entire production, his 2022 vintage that was about to be bottled.

Along with his losses were those of another friend, Beto, who is a Colombian Somm/winemaker that also had his entire production in Jorge's warehouse.

They lost absolutely everything.

Whether you enjoy natural wine or not, if you can donate please do. Anything helps.

All of Guariligue in Itata is on fire right now, and many winemakers are being directly affected.

When we visited my homeland Chile last year and connected with wine makers and grape growers of the area, Jorge was so kind and helpful, so open and friendly, making us feel at home and sharing his wine with us with a spark in those eyes because he loves what he does. An amazing storyteller through his pet nats, skin contact whites and cinsaults.

Beto is like an old brother I feel I've known my whole life but we only met once in Itata, another beautiful human making gorgeous natural wine with tinaja, he also lost all of his production.

Jorge and Beto will need so much support to get back to where they were, and it'll take a massive collective effort to get there, but this is just one thing we can do to help them get their footing so they can slowly put the pieces back together.
