Hi, my name is Lety and I am fundraising for Jorge (George) Castorena.

Mr. Castorena is in need of financial assistance to pay for his monthly bills and medical expenses.

Mr. Castorena is a Special Education paraprofessional and has been working at Pace Early College High School for several decades. In addition to working with Special Education students in the Lifeskills, SFL Units, and Special Olympics, he has been very involved in the athletic department since he started working at Pace. He has volunteered his time to assist several coaches with after school practice and games both at home and away. Throughout the years, Mr. Castorena has used his personal days from work in order to travel with the teams to away games scheduled during school days.

Additionally, Mr. Castorena has been involved in the Brownsville Charro Days celebrations for many years. He is always ready to assist wherever and whenever he is needed.

Mr. Castorena has been absent from work since February of this year due to health issues. He had eye surgery in February. His doctors have ordered several CT Scans and MRI´s to evaluate him for kidney and lung cancer. A few days ago, doctors informed him he does not have lung cancer. They were not able to rule out kidney cancer so he will undergo surgery to remove his right kidney in a few days.

Mr. Castoreana is a wonderful, caring person that is always willing to help in any way possible. You don’t even have to ask, at the slightest mention of a concern or problem, he offers and insists on helping solve your problems.
