Hello my name is Derian and I’m organizing this go fund me on behalf of my cousin Jordyn and her family as they navigate one of the most challenging times in their life.

Recently Jordyn’s world was turned upside down when she was sent to emerge for some critical bloodwork results at the beginning of November during her school’s reading week. This visit resulted in an overnight stay which included a blood transfusion, multiple tests, and the need for a biopsy.

Jordyn had started at Mount Allison University this September to obtain a degree in Art History with a minor in Museum Studies and like every young adult starting university she thought that her growing fatigue and weakness was just your typical everyday student life exhaustion, however this was not that case for Jordyn. After enduring a few more hospital visits and tests (at three different hospitals) Jordyn was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma at only 22 years old.

Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of lymphoma in which cancer originates from a specific type of white blood cell called lymphocytes.

Jordyn will require chemotherapy treatments every other week for the next 6 months. There is no doubt that Jordyn will need her mom’s by her side while she takes on the biggest challenge of her life. The closest hospital for treatment is an hour away, and her Hematologist is two hours. The cost of this unexpected travel alone is enough to cause financial strain.

This GoFundMe is dedicated to easing the financial burden; the funds will go towards covering additional medical expenses, transportation costs, missed time at work etc.

Any contributions, no matter the amount will make a huge difference in easing at least some of the stress; financial and emotional, on Jordyn and her family during this time.
