Jordon's New Kidney
Donation protected
My name is Kaitlin and I'm starting this for my brother, Jordon. Jordon was born in kidney failure and at the age of 3 he received a kidney from our mom. He has grown to become an avid outdoorsman and enjoys fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and quadding. Jordon has always been eager to help those who need it. Now, 17 years later he is the one in need of help.
Jordon got sick at the beginning of January 2021 and was rushed to a Saskatoon Hospital in critical condition. After many tests, medications, and blood transfusions doctors determined he was in kidney failure and would need dialysis soon. He spent awhile in the hospital and was sent home to be closely monitored. On Feb 11, doctors placed a permacath for hemodialysis and he began treatments that afternoon. Jordon will be travelling to Regina to receive these treatments a couple days a week. He will eventually be getting a fistual in his arm so he will be able to some of these treatments at home. This process takes 2-3 months to get organized. After he gets the fistual and it heals, he will have to be in Regina for 6-8 weeks learning how to run the machine and how to monitor everything. Some modifications will also have to be done to the house to accommodate the machines. Jordon will be on dialysis until another transplant can take place. Doctors say this could take up to a year if not longer.
For those wishing to donate but don't feel comfortable doing so on here can contact myself or our mom for information on etransfers.
Thanks in advance for your help.
