Jordon Sturtevant Memorial Fund

Donation protected
Don and Kathleen Sturtevant, along with their family and friends, are grieving the sudden death of their son Jordon, who tragically took his own life early Sunday morning, October 14, 2018 at the young age of 26. Jordon was a bright spirit, an artist and an avid reader. He was a tremendous natural athlete with boundless energy. Jordon was born in Santa Cruz and lived in La Selva Beach, Corralitos and Aptos, attending Bradley Elementary, Aptos Academy and Aptos High School.

Jordon was a true Santa Cruz local. He loved the music, the mountains, the organic food, and of course the ocean. He loved to cook and was an artist when it came to his food. He worked as a chef for Snow White, Seascape Resort, River Street Café, West End Tap and eventually Café Cruz, which he loved. He dreamed of opening a restaurant of his own at some point. He also loved the outdoors, Death Valley of late or just camping out somewhere, anywhere, in Santa Cruz County. He had a passion for insects and could surprisingly recite out the habits or history of creatures most of us would never think of. He could sing and was an animal whisperer. He was witnessed catching wild birds on more than a few occasions. (Once he caught a sparrow mid-flight, who can do that?) He also had a passion for film photography and recently won awards at the Santa Cruz County Fair for his work.

Jordon approached life with zeal, excitement and a no-fear attitude. He viewed injuries as a badge of courage, but was also pure and righteous. Many could see him skateboarding to wherever he was going with his beautiful wolf dog pulling the lead and his gorgeous, long, blonde hair blowing in the wind. He loved and adored his beautiful girlfriend, Bryanna, who shared many of Jordon’s hobbies and interests. They spent much time together. He was loved so much and had so many friends from all walks of life. He left his mark on this town, to say the least. Even though Jordan took his own life we know he is at peace now. He will be forever loved, missed and always in our hearts.

The purpose of this Go Fund Me effort is to help with the expenses of the funeral/memorial services.  Any remaining funds will be put towards establishing a non-profit organization in Jordon’s name to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
