Jorden (Guddal) Hartwig Memorial Fund

On Aug 30, 2022, Jorden was struck by a vehicle while operating her scooter outside her workplace at Camping World. It was 1 pm on a Tuesday, and nearly every co-worker was on that street and witnessed that horrible scene, including her older sister, who also works at Camping World. She was airlifted to HCMC, where she miraculously walked out of the hospital within three days with what appeared to be only non-life-threatening injuries. Her friends and family celebrated her life and recovery for six weeks, showering her with love and encouragement, hoping for a promising recovery. Husband Ryan Hartwig went above and beyond for Jorden during these six weeks. He not only took off work to stay home and care for her but helped her manage and maintain an entirely new lifestyle full of restrictions (such as no bending over, no hot showers, certain medication at specific times of the day, etc.) Jorden was planning to return to her job as Parts Manager at Camping World in Monticello this week.

With great sadness, we announce that on October 15, 2022, at 29, Jorden suddenly passed away from injuries she sustained from her accident. She was visiting Michigan to enjoy the fall colors with her husband Ryan, brother-in-law Brandon and her fur babies Koda and Jax. She developed a nosebleed early that morning and died shortly after arriving at the hospital. This trip of love and joy ended tragically for many people, but it was earth-shattering for Ryan. In a million years, he never expected to be driving back home without his wife- a wife who was lively, joking and kicking his butt at UNO just the night before!

In 2015, Jorden met the love of her life Ryan Hartwig. For years they learned to love and complete each other in so many ways until they became one and married on September 14, 2019, in a beautiful garden wedding. They built a life in Buffalo, MN, owning a home and sharing it with their fur babies Koda, Jax, Milo, Otis, and Nigel. Jorden loved all animals- even talked about getting a third corgi and said Ryan agreed to it! Her love was endless.

She was passionate about everything she did: creating beautiful, timely mosaics, going to sporting events (Wild and Vikings) and traveling. There isn't a single person who has met Jorden that doesn't have a good memory of her or good words to say about her. She was always just fun to be around, and you could not help but smile in her presence. She holds a special and unique memory for each of us and will always be remembered as a fun person with a playful heart, full of joy, that loved and cared deeply for her family and friends.

This memorial fund is developed for Ryan as he begins his new life without his best friend. He faces many unknown expenses in the days ahead; medical and funeral bills are the immediate concerns. Please consider donating as a small way to ease his difficulties going forward.
