Having never done a campaign like this before, I’ve tried several different approaches and decided it’s easiest to just “put it out there”.  Our family was dealt a major blow last week.


Jordan Allen, our nephew/grandson/son/husband/brother went to the doctor for a high fever. 48 hours later we were hit with the word “lymphoma”. His sternum has fractures in it from a large mass encapsulating his ribs, and there are compression fractures on all of his thoracic vertebrae…. and we need more testing.

As of this morning, Jordan is at the University of Iowa having a port put in his chest to start heavy doses of chemotherapy. The fever he initially went in for has turned out to be Stage 4, Anaplastic T-cell lymphoma, and has spread throughout the body. It is very aggressive and only 3% are affected with this type of cancer.


Last fall, Jordan married his high school sweetheart, Emily.  Both are college students in Cedar Falls, IA area. Emily is employed full time at Casey’s and Jordan is employed by Panera. Cancer isn’t suppose to be part of a new journey together. And as some may know, chemo is known to greatly affect fertility in patients. Another issue to address as a newly married couple.


We, as a family, are trying to do everything we can to help them through this. This campaign will be put towards the medical bills, family planning options, travel expenses, and offsetting their normal living expenses.


We have been told repeatedly that lymphoma is one of the most treatable forms of cancer, that coupled with his age (24)......leaves us optimistic and hopeful. We keep saying “it takes a village”.....THANK YOU…..to everyone who reads this, shares this, contributes monetarily, or by prayer.
