Jordan Lovelace at San Francisco Ballet

Donation protected
Talented and accomplished Jordan Lovelace, originally from Oak Cliff,  is now age 18 and in his final year of pre-professional dance training at world-renowned San Francisco Ballet.  A gifted ballet and contemporary dancer (my former student at The Dallas Conservatory for 4 years whom I continue to mentor), Jordan has been awarded since he started dancing at age 13 with top prizes in competition, and 100 percent scholarships to major ballet schools of the world including London’s Royal Ballet, San Francisco Ballet (current), New York’s School of American Ballet, Boston Ballet, Washington Ballet, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet.

While scholarships have aided in the cost of tuition and housing, Jordan continues to need aid in the cost of living. Each week he needs food, public transportation, phone, clothes and shoes, ballet clothes and shoes, toiletries, medical and dental care, occasional physical therapy for dance injuries, travel home to Dallas 2x/yr, and travel to necessary auditions (this year, 6-8 trips). Jordan suffered the loss of his father at age 12, and his mother has young children at home, so can only partially provide for his needs. I have always helped but with our new campus I am no longer in a position to be his main source of support.

In Spring 2018, my GoFundMe fundraiser for Jordan allowed him to live for over a year! We budgeted and made certain Jordan was using his fund wisely, making each donation count.

To contribute to his cost of living since his fund  was depleted, Jordan teaches and choreographs for TDC when home in Dallas, and walks dogs for WAG in San Francisco when he is not dancing and rehearsing 40 hrs/week!!! He is exemplary in his work ethic and mindfulness of money.

Jordan needs your help again, a year and a half since his last GoFundMe to get him home for the holidays to see his family and work a bit at TDC, and to carry him through another year - finishing his studies at SFB and embarking on auditions for professional jobs!

If you have miles to donate or can include him in your 2019 giving, we so appreciate it!! 2020 is when Jordan will need to travel to audition for professional companies. I pray for him to feel as supported as he needs to feel in such a stressful time!!

If you are reading this far, you are the type of person we need now in Jordan’s support network as he works his way from a gifted boy from Oak Cliff to a professional male classical and contemporary ballet dancer in America or abroad, earning a living in a few short years from now (or sooner!) doing what he does so well and loves most: dancing.  Eventually, if he works hard, he may be able to pass the gift  by teaching, and perhaps even choreographing and/or directing.

Thank you you for giving what you can as soon as you can in honor of GivingTuesday! We are hoping this new GoFundMe will carry Jordan through a year or more. We sincerely appreciate your help even if it’s just $10!! (Last time we had close to $1k in small donations alone! Every single penny matters).

Accepting your support with love and gratitude, and happy to set up work sessions now in addition to your gift  (YAGP coaching, private lessons etc),
