Hi,
My name is Loretta Roberts and my dear cousins Josh and Nancy lost their 11 year old sweet, sweet boy Jordan and my dear cousin Summer lost her little brother today.

Jordan fell ill on Friday November 10 with what seemed like a normal respiratory infection. He had a bad croup type cough so his Mom took him to urgent Care. There they said he was negative for flu and covid. They told mom Nancy that Jordan had a viral infection that would need to run its course. He was released to home with a prescription for prednisone and cough medicine.
The next morning (Saturday) he was worse so he was taken back to Urgent care. Urgent Care advised he needed to be taken to the Emergency Room. The ER did a chest X-ray which was “clear” and gave him a breathing treatment to help clear up some congestion. He was also given a different steroid and then after another breathing treatment he seemed much better and was eventually released home.

Sunday, when Nancy got off work and came home around 4:30, Jordan was coughing quite a bit, but was able to eat dinner and then wanted to watch the movie Sing 2 with his mom.
Around 11:30 Sunday night Jordan took a turn for the worst. He started having difficulties breathing and became very anxious. He said, “Mom, I’m going to die today”. He wanted to go back to the hospital.

Nancy tried to get him to calm down so he could breathe better and proceeded to quickly get ready to take him back to the hospital.
Jordan suddenly became so weak and collapsed in their kitchen with mom and dad at his side. His heart had stopped. CPR was started and the ambulance arrived very quickly. They revived him at home, and he was rushed to the hospital. His heart stopped again and again he was revived. He was life flighted to UH Rainbows babies and children’s hospital in Cleveland.

Despite INCREDIBLE care, we eventually learned Jordan had little to no brain activity. He was on a ventilator, but soon his heart began to fail.

Nancy and Josh had to make the most difficult decision a parent could ever have to make. Truly a parents/family’s worst nightmare. Many prayers were prayed. Many tears were shed.
Despite our begging and pleading with God to just let him be ok, Jordan James, the sweetest 11 year old boy you’d ever know, surrounded by his big loving family passed today Monday November 13, at 4:18 pm.

Unfortunately, as this was incredibly sudden and unexpected, any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

The last thing they need to think about while grieving the loss of their son, is how to pay for his funeral.
All funds raised will go towards paying for his funeral costs and extensive medical bills.
Thank you for any help you can give.

Services will be announced once they are decided.
