Jordan Breen Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
A pioneer of mixed martial arts media, Jordan Breen’s passion, encyclopedic knowledge, and infinite curiosity inspired many in both his professional and personal life. Tragically, we recently lost Jordan far too soon at the age of 38.
As many have attested following news of his passing, Jordan was endlessly generous with offering both time and opportunities to those who were seeking their start in the sports media world. With that spirit of giving in mind, friends of Jordan have partnered with his alma mater to fund a scholarship that will assist students, who, like Jordan, come from modest backgrounds and may need financial support and encouragement as they pursue their goals and passions.
Jordan attended the University of King’s College in his hometown of Halifax while working at Sherdog. He graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Social Anthropology. While Jordan’s degree was in the arts, King’s has a journalism program that has always included sports reporting. This year, Journalism at King’s expanded its programming to include a dedicated course in sports broadcasting.
As a way to honour Jordan, we invite you to join us in contributing to the Jordan Breen Scholarship for Sports Reporting at the University of King’s College. We encourage you to donate directly through the GoFundMe, or, if you require a tax receipt for your donation, to donate directly to King’s as outlined below. Donations directed through King’s will periodically be updated in the fundraising total on this page.
