Hello,
We do hope you are doing well, and take a moment to read Jordan’s story.
While going in to the doctor for back pain just a few weeks ago, a concerning discovery was made inside Jordan’s abdomen: a mass hanging between his spine and stomach that warranted an immediate surgery. This surgery was successful, but a post-op CT scan made the exact same discovery. Another mass was found, near exact in size, that is showing signs of growing at an alarming rate. This is incredibly surreal news, and near-impossible for Jordan and his family to bear.
Jordan has been diagnosed with a very rare type of adrenal cancer; he’s recently been transferred to the Knight Cancer Institute wing at OHSU. While the care available at this hospital is considered to be highly prestigious, he is learning that there are few options available and those options are quickly disappearing with each passing hour. The extreme rarity and complexity of Jordan’s condition will soon be sending him to specialists in both Seattle and Los Angeles. Needless to say, this has all been accelerating rapidly. Jordan’s family and friends will be doing everything they can to negate the financial burden his healing will bring on him and his wife, but are humbly asking for your help with that.
Until recently, Jordan had been settling into his first ever lead graphic design role, an occupation he had graduated from Portland State University to work towards. For the first time ever in his life, Jordan was interviewing possible team members for him to supervise and was assuming a position he had aspired to be in for years. Jordan didn’t let the hardships of 2020 keep him from enjoying and thriving, as he was also happily married this past summer.
He carries an inviting sentiment with him, a space for a friend new or old; he ensures there's always an opportunity to share a new conversation or experience with him. His gentle character and wisdom is inherently consoling and ever-present in times of distress. He leaves an imprint on those he walks with--a reminder to approach life with a sense of humor and levity that dismantles the everyday stress and harder challenges life's prepared for us. Down to his core, he's a supportive, caring, healing friend whose true selflessness is conveyed by his actions.
Absolutely anything you can give will be very much appreciated. Please consider helping or even reaching out to Jordan with as much positivity as you can give! We all know he could use it. Thank you so much for reading, take care and stay safe.
