Support for the Jordan Blodgett Family

04/20/2020 - From Shelby:
My sweet Jordan passed away peacefully this afternoon, surrounded by his family. We are incredibly heartbroken but also relieved that he is free from pain. Cancer is pure evil and put Jordan through so much. It never destroyed his positive attitude and he fought so so hard. We are all very grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us the past 3 years.

04/18/2020 - With heavy hearts we are announcing that as of 04/15/2020, Jordan has entered "in home hospice care."  His cancer never responded to treatments as hoped since his fall in 2019, and it is now spreading too far, too fast.  We are extremely thankful for those who have followed his journey since the very beginning and for all the support shown.  Jordan has touched so many lives and has brought so much happiness to those who were privileged enough to know him, he will be truly missed by many.  Please keep him, Shelby, Sloane and our families in your prayers, they are very much needed and appreciated during this very difficult time.  Thank you, Shannon (Shelby's mom)  (If you would like to send a card, etc., please email me for more information at [email redacted]

We are raising money to help assist my son-n-law, Jordan, daughter, Shelby and my 2 year old granddaughter during my son-n-law's fight against Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma, a very rare form of soft tissue/bone cancer.  Jordan was first diagnosed in November of 2016 and underwent 9 months of extensive chemotherapy treatment, ending in August of 2017, during which time he was unable to work.  Not only was this devastating emotionally and physically, it hit them hard financially.  They were just starting to "somewhat" recover when Jordan ended up in the ER in September of 2018 with what he thought might have been a pulled muscle, but scans showed a hip fracture and a "suspicious mass." They felt the "mass" caused the fracture, therefore they did further testing.  He was just told that the mass is indeed cancer and they want to start him on chemo as soon as possible.  He will be undergoing chemo an hour a day for 5 days every 21 days for the next 4 to 6 months, which they will scan again and if they are not satisfied with how the mass is reacting to the chemo, he might have to undergo radiation and a full hip replacement.

In February of 2019, Jordan fell on ice and completely broke the already compromised hip, resulting in a helicopter trip to U of M and an almost 6 week stay, where he did receive a full hip/partial femur replacement.  The chemo trails he has tried since then have not been successful and unfortunately he has several tumors in which they are still trying to find a treatment that will work.   My main goal is to help with the everyday things like car/insurance payments, any medical deductibles, diapers, basically anything is and will be greatly appreciated.  Shelby is his full time care giver along with my granddaughter's and they are just "shy" of qualifying for food assistance. We welcome any and all prayers and support and I want to take as much stress away from them as possible, so they can just concentrate on "kicking cancer's ass."
