Jordan Becker's Recovery

Donation protected
Update- Unfortunately Jordan's cancer has relapsed after 8 months of being in remission. He will have to go intensive chemo and surgery for the next 6 months. This will make another huge strain on his family because his mom will be in staying with him weeks at a time in miami while dad helps with the other 2 children. Anything you can do to help would greatly be appreciated to the family...

The Becker Family hesitated initially about sharing this update, but as they've opened up to more people, the outpouring of prayers and support has been truly heartwarming. Not only does it bring them comfort, but they also hope that by sharing their journey, they might offer solace to other families facing similar challenges. Of course, they've taken this step only with Jordan's consent.

It all began when Jordan started experiencing knee pain. Like any kid, he mentioned occasional aches and pains, and initially, they didn't think much of it. They went in for an X-ray, which didn't reveal much. Jordan then embarked on some physical therapy, but unfortunately, the pain persisted and intensified. This led them down the path of an MRI, followed by a triple phase bone scan, yet the underlying cause remained elusive.

On May 15th, the family's world shifted dramatically as Jordan underwent a bone biopsy. The subsequent day, May 16th, delivered the news that their handsome 18-year-old son, Jordan, had been diagnosed with a fibrosarcoma. This type of malignant tumor originated in the connective fibrous tissue of his upper tibia.

Beginning on May 20th, Jordan immediately commenced chemotherapy, marking the start of a summer spent navigating in and out of the hospital. Each treatment required up to five days of stay in the Miami hospital, accompanied by his dedicated mom. Jordan's dad has been shouldering extra responsibilities to support the family of five during this challenging time.

Miraculously, on August 8th, the tumor was successfully removed. Jordan underwent a full knee replacement, accompanied by the placement of a metal plate at the tumor's former site. Now, he's on the path to recovery from the comfort of his home. However, for the next six weeks, his leg's movement will be restricted, and he will essentially need to relearn walking.

The journey continues with ongoing chemotherapy treatments scheduled until the end of 2023. This process has unfortunately impacted both Jordan and his mother's ability to work. Recently, Jordan achieved a significant milestone by purchasing his first car with his hard-earned savings from the past eight months of work.

As the medical bills mount and responsibilities weigh heavily, it's uncomfortable for the Becker's to seek donations or gifts. But as someone close to the family, I've witnessed their challenges and think it would be helpful to establish a support system that can alleviate their current financial strain – one less thing for them to worry about during this time.

Despite the obstacles, Jordan was able to attend his high school graduation, a cherished moment that the family holds dear. Looking forward, once this ordeal is over, Jordan plans to commence his local college journey.

Your prayers and positive thoughts for Jordan's journey are deeply appreciated. His determination and strength shine through, and together, we believe he'll overcome this challenge with unwavering resolve.
