Jordan and Lisa Proud

As some of you may know, my brother, Jordan and his wife Lisa were hit head-on while travelling home from their favourite camping spot on the afternoon of Sunday, August 28th. A person crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit the vehicle Lisa was driving. Jordan was taken by ambulance to St. Michaels, and Lisa was airlifted to Sunnybrook, both Toronto area hospitals.
Jordan was in stable condition but suffered a broken backbone, a broken jaw and a fractured elbow; all three breaks requiring surgery to correct. Two of three surgeries have been completed; Jordan's jaw has been wired shut for six weeks, and he is still waiting for the surgery on his elbow. In the last couple of days, Jordan has been told he has some internal bleeding, what they believe is a stomach ulcer and nasal fractures.
As the one driving the vehicle, Lisa sustained more severe injuries, with multiple broken bones, organ damage and swelling of her brain. On Monday morning (August 29), Lisa was placed on life support; after a couple of days, Lisa's heart needed medication to help keep it strong; we were waiting for Jordan to be able to get to her bedside.
Finally, on Friday (September 2), Jordan was transferred by ambulance to Sunnybrook to be by Lisa's side. He was able to visit with her and get an in-person update from her Doctors. At this time, the lead Dr. said they would get Jordan's care transferred to Sunnybrook so that he could stay with Lisa.
After being able to spend the better part of the weekend, day and night, by Lisa's side, Jordan was with her, holding her hand on Monday afternoon (September 5) as Lisa passed away surrounded by her family.
Jordan is a proud man, and when I asked him about a platform where friends and family could show their support if they chose to, financially, he was hesitant and unsure. The funds raised will be used for the unthinkable; a funeral and burial along with monetary support for a strong independent man in a time of need; two things the morning of August 28th none of us would have believed, even if you told us. That a beautiful and healthy 26-year-old wife, daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend would be saying goodbye earth side while her husband continues to be hospitalized, healing, awaiting surgery and unable to work.
It is unknown at this time how long Jordan will be in the hospital and, even more so, how long before he will be back working.
Please feel no obligation to donate, I had individuals inquire on how to support Jordan, and we figured this is the most straightforward way. Support through messages to Jordan to let him know you are thinking of him is also a great way to support him during this time.
