Jordan Jamrowski and Andre Heroes El Paso

An unthinkable nightmare came true for our family this weekend.

We lost our Niece Jordan Anchondo and her Husband Andre Anchondo to a senseless hate crime.   On Saturday my niece Jordan and her husband dropped their oldest daughter off at cheer, like they would on an average Saturday and went to Wal Mart for school supplies.  What happened next led to a million text messages being shared amongst our family and friends, that there was an active shooter in El Paso . I next received a text from my Sister in Law Misti and Brother Paul who are the parents of Jordan and grand parents of baby Paul, that Neither Jordan nor Andre we’re answering text or phones. After that our most dreaded fears came true.

The  gunman entered Wal-Mart on Saturday morning, aimed his gun at my niece and her husband, Andre jumped in front of the gunman as the loving  husband and father he was known to be, as he did that, my niece Jordan used her body to shield their new born, Baby Paul Gilbert. Her body fell on baby Paul and he was picked up with his parents blood on him and rushed to UMC Children’s hospital with bruises and two broken fingers and thankfully alive.

So many family members, friends, people from our community and even strangers from around the country have reached out and offered heart felt words, thoughts, prayers and love. Thank YOU ALL. We unfortunately now share the outrage and hurt that has become all to common in this day and age.  A father and mother should never die having to use their bodies to shield their new born baby from bullets, while shopping for school supplies. Now 3 children will never know
the love of their parents like we all as family and friend knew them. We lost two amazing humans and we are devastated.

We are left to pick up the pieces and so many continue to ask if there is a Go Fund Me and today with a heavy heart at the urging of friends, family and community, I am setting one up for my 24 year old Niece’s babies. Thank you all, for the kind words, thought and prayers, this is what has pulled our families and community through! Please know our hearts break for all of the victims in this tragedy and their families.

Our condolences go out to all of El Paso and the Ohio victims.  We also want to thank our first responders for their swift action and support! Together we will pull through.
