Well drilling fund

Donation protected
We purchased 6.5 acres in Missouri in February of 2014. We moved from Los Angeles to the property the following month after my fiancee (a carpenter) ran out of work, and I (a legal assistant) was laid off from long term employment. We used every bit of savings we had to set up our new home on our new property. We both found employment out here and are earning enough to live, pay bills and purchase materials for improvements. However, we need to drill a well. Since we have been here we have been surviving on a rainwater catchment system and the generosity of our new friends to fill 55 gallon barrels from their wells. Those barrels have to be unloaded from the truck, and the water siphoned into more manageable sized containers. (My fiancee just had emergency hernia surgery.) We survived the dry season last fall at the expense of our garden, and now with the freezing temperatures our barrels are freezing after a couple of days. In the middle of last summer we had a couple thousand dollars saved toward the well fund but life events drained the savings (A family emergency requiring a trip back to LA, and our truck breaking down) and we have not recovered financially. The quotes from two different well drilling companies range between $6,000 and $8,000. Should we reach our goal of $8,000 and there be money left over we will put that towards building materials to commence building or cabin. We have a dream of having a self sustaining micro farm out here. We've found that dream relies on having water readily available. Any help achieving that dream would be thanked beyond expression.
