Answers for Jools & to help change the law for others

Everyone has been so very kind, and people often ask how else they can help.

As many will have seen, I have fought relentlessly to try to understand why our son, Jools, died at just 14 years old. Central to that is what happened online in the days and weeks before his death.

Jools’ initial inquest did not properly examine his social media activity. Some accounts were never looked at at all.

While the legal route remains ongoing, and I am very fortunate to have a barrister acting pro bono on my High Court application (we are still awaiting a reply from the Attorney General), I am also pursuing information through the police.

I have employed and continue to employ professionals who are invaluable to me, including private investigators supporting us alongside the police review, and specialist work examining digital and online activity.

In addition, there are significant travel costs involved in trying to change the law, so that no other parent has to go through what we are living through. This includes multiple trips to London for meetings with the Secretary of State, Peers in the House of Lords, and MPs in Parliament. Rail fares alone are incredibly expensive. I have also booked travel to the United States in relation to action against TikTok.

So far, I have spent over £25,000 on legal fees and £7,000 on specialist support. Many people have been incredibly kind in donating already, and that generosity has helped more than I can ever properly express.

I truly hate having to ask for help. It feels deeply uncomfortable, and it is not something I ever imagined doing. But this work is expensive, and without that support, I simply could not continue. If you are able to help, even £1–£2, it would genuinely make a difference.

This is about trying to understand why Jools is no longer here and about doing everything possible to ensure other families are not left in the same position, fighting for answers after it is too late.
