May 21st Jon was delivering a load of 1200lb square bales when the load was rocked and two of the bales came tumbling off the top of the truck crushing his left leg and pinning him to the ground. His pelvis was smashed into pieces, the top of his femur snapped off, shoving the ball of his hip up into his pelvis, his tibia and fibula were crushed and he damaged his MCL. He was taken to the hospital in Lemars, IA where they determined the extent of his injuries were more than they could handle so he was airlifted to Sioux City where he had the first of 4 surgeries. From Sioux City he was sent to Sioux Falls for the rest of his surgeries and therapy. The last few weeks have been filled with pain, surgeries, blood transfusions, hope, grit, more pain, and a determination that he will recover. Doctors are projecting that recovery will take about a year. Let’s shower Jon, Brooke and their 4 month old daughter, Maggie with love, support, prayers and gifts of cash so they can focus on getting Jon back on his feet and not worry about bills.
