I first off want to start this by saying thank you from the bottom of my heart for any donations, any bit helps :) 

My name is Taylor, I have known Jon for what seems like majority of my life. For those who do not know, Jon was my step-father. I say "was" because he and my mother are no longer married, however he has always been my step-father and always will be. Jon does not have any children of his "own" so I like to think that he considered me his own. 

Jon was diagnosed with Creutzfedt-Jakob Disease this October. For those who do not know it is a very rare degenerative, fatal brain disease. By rare I mean 1:1,000,000. It causes dementia like symptoms. It is very rapid and in Jon's case seems to be extremely rapid. Since no cure is available, the goal of treatment is comfort. In the month since symptoms began to appear Jon has declined significantly. He requires help with nearly everything causing things to become difficult for his Fiance Angela. She needs help. 

The money donated will go towards home health care since he is going to require 24/7 care. I am a nurse and I am truly disgusted in the lack of support from insurance companies. Insurance will not cover a nursing facility nor will they cover home health. Knowing Jon, he would like to be at home. I would like to help make that possible. Home health is going to cost somewhere around $230/day. We are unsure as to how much longer he has left with us, but lets make them count!
