Jon was recently thrown from his scooter and suffered serious injuries. His head bore the brunt of the impact, resulting in stitches and facial fractures, including his temples and the area connecting his brain and nose. This led to brain bleeds and the draining of brain fluids through his nose. Additionally, blood clots in his eardrums affected his hearing. A large clot formed in his right upper thigh upon impact, necessitating surgery to place a stent/filter through his veins, up his artery, and into his chest to mitigate the risk of further clots due to the brain bleeds.
Jon spent three days in the ICU/trauma unit before being transferred to a regular room once CT scans confirmed stable brain bleeds and cleared him for surgery. He was admitted on a Friday night and discharged the following Wednesday afternoon. Jon's follow-up with trauma specialists is scheduled for this week during which he anticipates learning more about his recovery process and any necessary steps going forward following additional tests.
