Jon's Fight with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma

Jon and Emily have been fighting cancer for years. Jon is a father of three—a 16 year-old, an 8-year-old, and a 3-year-old—and has Stage 4 metastatic melanoma with bone metastases. Over the last 4 years, he has had 3 surgeries, 6 different treatments, and many, many "procedures". They have run out of FDA-approved treatments and Jon is currently enrolled in a clinical trial.

Jon now has a tumor in his throat is pushing on a nerve and causing an inability to swallow. He was recently hospitalized and will begin palliative radiation to reduce the size of the tumor.

They need our help. Between what they already owe for his recent hospitalization, the 5 cycles of radiation in Durham, an hour away and additional care he will need during future treatments, the need help. Jon and Emily both work full time but it is not enough and not everything is covered by their insurance.
