Jonny Walker Medical Fund

Every August, my nephew, Jonny Walker spends all of his time in the mountains doing what he loves most; hiking, hunting, and communing with nature. Being a true sportsman, Jon has shared his passion of the outdoors and of bow hunting with anyone who wanted to learn. His dream job has always been that of a hunting guide where he could share his love of the outdoors with those who wanted to learn the sport. On Monday, September 6th, Jon's dream turned into a nightmare as he was riding his 4-wheeler back to camp at dark. As he approached a blind turn he struck a cow standing in the middle of the road. Jon was thrown off of this ATV suffering severe injuries to his head and neck, including a cracked skull. His father, Tyson Walker, was called from camp where he started emergency response medicine. He was soon joined by two EMTs. A trauma nurse from Layton also happened upon the scene. Jon was life flighted to UVRMC where he remains in a medically induced coma with brain bleeds.

Life is just beginning for this amazing kid and now he has an incredibly difficult road to recovery. As a family we are simply in shock and are doing whatever we can to support Jon, his parents Tyson & Carissa Walker, and sister Kady. The medical bills are increasing each day and with the Covid restrictions Tyson and Carissa are the only two that can stay with Jon in ICU. If one of them leaves, they have to wait 24 hours before they can get back in. We are doing whatever we can to assist the family and make Jons road to recovery as smooth as possible.
