My name is Courtney and my friend Dolores and I are raising funds to support our coworker and pal, Jonnie, who was recently diagnosed on 8/12 with acute myeloid leukemia at only 60 years old. Jonnie has worked as a dedicated Mental Health Worker on overnights at Creekside Behavioral Health, where Dolores and I also work since 2007. The residents often speak fondly of Jonnie and he treats all with respect and dignity. Those who know him speak of his kindness, sense of humor and his willingness to help anyone in need. As we know, the battle ahead will be long and hard. This type of leukemia is aggressive. Jonnie will need a lot of time of work for treatments and does not have benefits to cover this. We need to raise as much as we can to help support him so he can rest assured that his basic needs are met while he is receiving treatment. For someone who works in the helping profession, it is hard to ask for help. So, we're asking for him. He would never do this on his own. Jonnie doesn't have immediate support in the area. He has been with Creekside for so long, we are his family. Please share this and know that you are helping a great person.
