Dear friends, family, and supporters of musical artists.
Internationally acclaimed soprano Jonita Lattimore, is suffering a medical crisis and needs your help. She is a lyric soprano from Chicago's South Side who trained with Houston Grand Opera's Houston Opera Studio and Lyric Opera of Chicago's Center for American Artists. She has performed a wide range of operatic roles, as well as oratorio performances with major orchestras both internationally and domestically. Along with her concert work, she is an adjunct faculty member of Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts and Columbia College Chicago.
Jonita's Health Crisis:
On January 21, 2023, Jonita was rushed to the hospital via ambulance due to severe abdominal pains. She was immediately admitted for emergency surgery. After eight (8) emergency surgeries, a month in the ICU, three (3) months in a specialty hospital, and an additional surgery amputating part of her left leg, she is still in the hospital recovering. With the amputation, she also has a long road to recovery which includes rehabilitation and prosthetics.
Please consider contributing to this GoFundMe campaign to help defray the costs of this medical crisis. Jonita has not been able to generate any income while being in the hospital for the last eight months. In addition to the lack of income, she is an adjunct professor that does not qualify for employee medical or disability benefits.
How You Can Help:
I humbly ask for your assistance in raising the funds needed for Jonita's substantial and ongoing medical bills. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a tremendous impact. Here’s how you can support Jonita:
- Please consider contributing to her GoFundMe campaign. Your donation will directly fund Jonita's hospital and rehabilitation expenses.
- If you are unable to donate at this time, you can still help immensely by sharing Jonita’s story with your friends and family on all your social media networks. Your voice has the power to reach those who can make a difference.
She thanks you in advance for your consideration and generosity.
Sincerely,
