Joni’s Semester of Service
Donation protected
Hello there! My name is Joni Belonio and I’m currently a senior at Southern Adventist University. Graduation is coming right around the corner! There are only 3 months left until I receive my License for Teaching and Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
Since the beginning of the year, I have been brainstorming with God over what my life could look like after graduation. As the year went on, things continued to get harder as 2020 hit with all of it's unpredictable events. Yet through it all, I have been trusting God that He will lead me to the place where he needs me to be. After praying and talking with friends and family, God has led me to make the decision to spend one semester, after graduation, to be a teacher's assistant in Hilo, Hawaii. Through Southern's Student Missions Program, I will get the opportunity to teach at a small Adventist Christian School named Mauna Loa School.
The greatest graduation gift I can possibly think of receiving, would be a little help from my friends and family in helping me fundraise for my semester of service. Every donation of any amount will be appreciated. It will help me cover the cost of travel and other expenses during my stay. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting me as I go on my semester of service, by serving God and fulfilling His work this coming year.
Love you all,
Joni Belonio
P.S I know that the Covid-19 pandemic is not over. The virus continues to spread and I understand the risk of traveling to another state during this time. However, just because the virus is spreading, that should not stop believers of Christ in spreading God's word and love. Matthew 28:19-20 says, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” This verse affirms my belief that God will be with me wherever I go.
