Help Save Joni's Life - Emergency Surgery

The picture on the left at the start of the video is of my beloved Joni in her normal condition. In the last 7 months, however, she has withered away because she can hardly swallow to eat or drink and is becoming severely malnourished, but she is not sick, and not suffering from anorexia. She has also lost her ability to speak, but she hasn't had a stroke and she doesn't have brain tumor.

The surprising problem that has baffled her doctors for 7 months is that her severely dislocating jaw is compressing the nerves controlling speech and swallowing and she needs specialized and very delicate jaw surgery immediately...actually, she needed it 7 months ago.

The good news is that this is perfectly treatable and Joni's swallowing and speech will return if she can get surgery soon, before she becomes too weak to have surgery.

The bad news is that this is not fully covered under insurance and it's very expensive. The "discounted" out-of-pocket surgical fee is $42,000 alone. She also need pre- and post-surgical treatment to ensure the surgery is successful. It is hard to fully know these costs, but right now the best estimate is about another $35,000.

Joni will die without this surgery and it is terribly urgent. Unfortunately, neither of us can work as we once could because we've each had multiple spine surgeries. If we could, we couldn't earn that much money in time to save Joni's life, let alone her speech and swallowing.
