Joni Renbarger's Recovery Journey

If you know Joni, you know what a joyful, kind, and lovely person she is! You may also know that she was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) in December 2021. Luckily, doctors determined she does NOT have metastatic cancer, thanks in part to early detection and treatment.

To date, Joni has had surgery, which involved a lumpectomy followed by node removal. She then had cording complications that affected her left arm. Her current treatment plan involves physical therapy for her arm, radiation, and hormone blockers for five years after she completes the radiation.

In February 2021, prior to her diagnosis, Joni left her job on Keesler Air Force base (with full medical benefits) to start a private practice in clinical psychology and to spend more time with her kids. The good news is she is now able to bring psychological services to clients in both Mississippi and Wyoming! The bad news is that her medical bills are overwhelming.
