The Eaton Fire stopped one block from my house and unfortunately my house is uninhabitable until the toxic ash can be removed. Thankfully me, the kids, and the pets are okay, but the house is not. Even though it's still standing, we can't live in it currently. I'm working with FEMA on setting up an assessment of the property, but it's a long and slow process. (I am staying at a friend's empty apartment temporarily.)
Managing this has pulled me away from the shop, and I haven't been able to work my regular hours. My income relies fully on the hours I can put in at the shop. I have a claim with FEMA, but they don't pay for lost wages. They are going to help with the detox of my home and replacing necessary home items. Everything else is on me to replace.
I'm looking for help with transitional costs and lost wages from managing this emergency. Thank you for your support during this very trying time.
