UPDATE: Johnny went home to heaven late late last night. He was greeted into the arms of Jesus. Please keep our our families in your prayers.
Hi, my name is Lauren and we are doing this to help and love on my sister Kimmy, Jonathon and the sweet boys, Paul (6 years) and Aaron (3 years).
Most importantly, please pray or send positive thoughts our way.
- we also have a caring bridges website for notes,
-Jon has been out of work since before November. His surgery was postponed when the Dr got sick.
-Kim hasn't been able to work as much as she wants or needs as she cares so lovingly on Jon, Aaron, and Paul, commuting back and forth to the hospital, and so much more.
Our Story
On 11/1, Jonathon went in for an Ascending aortic aneurysm repair surgery. After a long time in the hospital, he came home for a few days. Last Monday he had a follow up with his PCP due to the cardiologist not having openings. She ordered a stat CT scan to rule out a pulmonary embolism and pneumonia. she also ran labs.
On Tuesday AM she called me and told me to take Jonathan to the ER. She called ahead to AAMC they got him back and started IV antibiotics he had septicemia. Later Tuesday he was transferred to Washington Hospital Center MedStar where the original surgery was.
Tuesday midnight going into Wednesday he was transferred to the ICU.
Around 4 am, he was unresponsive they immediately started CPR. they had to do CPR for 38 minutes. He was than put on life support, a ECHMO machine for his heart and intubated him for his lungs. He than had a surgical repair on Thursday to clean out infection and repair damaged coronary arteries and graft on the aorta. He is suppose to have surgery this weekend to close up the chest.
With some CT scans it was discovered some possible brain injury and kidney injury. He is on dialysis and is not as responsive as we would like. however it is too early to know if changes are permeant. We are praying.
On Friday night, he went in to AFIB and they called a code and had to shock him. He went back to normal sinus. I called for an update on Saturday morning and they had to Cardiovert (shock out of a fib) seven times, a total of 11 times by mid Saturday. He is on medications to stabilize his heart rate.
Please pray they can get his heart to beat regularly and not be in afib. They need to close his chest. (They kept it open for swelling). They cannot close the heart if the heart rate and BP are not stable
please pray for Gods providence in this and for us to trust in His plan.
