Supporting Jonathan’s Mission Behind Bars

Hello, my name is Virginia, and I am proud to be the wife of Jonathan, a man who has dedicated his life to serving others as a missionary, teacher, and mentor within the Sterling Correctional Facility in Colorado.

Jonathan’s story is one of incredible transformation and unwavering faith. Despite facing life without parole, he has embraced his calling to share God’s love, guiding others toward hope, redemption, and personal growth. Over the years, he has become a light in a dark place, teaching, coaching, and helping others rebuild their lives.

This fundraiser is for Jonathan’s existing supporters—friends, family, and those who have been touched by his story and ministry. Previously, his work was supported by a church in California, where he grew up, but due to administrative changes, they can no longer send funds directly. This is why I’ve created this GoFundMe: to ensure Jonathan can continue his vital mission. The funds raised will provide for his basic needs and resources to enrich his ministry and support those he mentors.

You’ll notice the fundraiser has a goal of $10,000. However, this is not a fixed goal; I had to input a number to create the fundraiser. If and when this amount is ever reached, I will adjust it to keep the fundraiser active for those who wish to continue supporting his work.

I’m currently in Germany, and this fundraiser is the only way I can help Jonathan financially, as he cannot open a bank, Chime or Venmo etc. account without a valid ID, and I can’t use those options while being outside the U.S. We are in the middle of the visa process, and once I am living closer to Jonathan in Colorado, we will find another way to manage his support.

Addendum: since I am still in Germany, it was only possible to open a GoFundMe in the German currency, Euro. I will update the exchange rate at least weekly and write down a few example amounts so that you don't have to do the math yourself.
