Help Jonathan Get Back On His Feet

Hello, 

My name is Jonathan Hardesty,  I am a senior at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. I am a Computer Information Systems major, and cannot wait to graduate in May 2017 to begin a career in web development. 

In late October of this year, I was involved in a serious car accident. The coast of North Carolina, where I am origianlly from, recently suffered major road damage from the recent hurricane. Because of the extensive road closures, on my way home for fall break, I found myself on a winding back country road, where I lost control of my car, and rolled it into the opposite side ditch. Along with a totaled vehicle, I sustained two broken vertebrae, a sprained wrist and ankle, and some cuts and bruises. Attached are some pictures of my car, and as you will see, it is a miracle I survived with only those injuries. While I am incredibly grateful to have made it out of the accident alive, this unfortunately has left me with a serious financial hardship. 



For the most part, I have been supporting myself through school. I was blessed with enough scholarships to make it through most of my education, but within the two years, I have had to rely more on what I can make through part time jobs. This year, I was working as a valet and event staff for a country club in the area. Because of my injuries, I will not be able to drive or do any type of extensive labor for the forseeable future. I had no choice but to leave my job, and it is unlikely I will be able to find one within the near future that can accomodate my restrictions.  

My school health insurance, while taking care of a significant portion, still has left me with medical costs totaling $4,500, which is daunting for any college student, let alone one who now has no way to work. 
The $6,000 you will be contributing towards will help me with my medical bills, as well as basic living expenses I need help with, such as rent and groceries, which makes the need very urgent. I had a very modest amount of money before the accident, that now, is almost depleted. Any contribution you make will be going towards not only helping paying off medical expenses, and providing basic necessities, it will also be, ultimately, helping me get through my last five months of college. 

I cannot tell you what your contribution would mean to me. The thought of anyone being kind enough to help someone they may never meet, in their time of need, is truly touching and I promise, it is not something that will be forgotten.  I eagerly await the opportunity to pay the world back, in whatever way possible, for the kindness it may shine on me.
