Hi, my name is Jonathan, and I’m an ice dancer representing the United States.
In 2023, I made the difficult decision to leave my family in Texas and move to Novi, Michigan, to fully commit to my dream of competing at the 2030 Winter Olympic Games. It was a leap of faith — one that meant starting over in a new place, balancing elite-level training with university, and working part-time, all in the pursuit of athletic excellence.
As a member of the U.S. National Team, I’ve had the honor of representing the United States both domestically and internationally in countries such as Italy, Austria, and England. At these competitions, my partner, Amy, and I went head-to-head with Olympians and World Championship athletes and were fortunate to medal alongside them. We’ve only been partnered for about two years and most recently placed top ten at the U.S. National Championships this past January — a testament to our dedication to the sport.
Ice dance is not just a sport, but an art — and an expensive one at that. Elite training comes with significant costs, including coaching, ice time, choreography, costumes, travel, and competition fees, which add up quickly.
In past years, I’ve been able to lean on my family and support system, who have sacrificed greatly to help me pursue this dream. Unfortunately, due to recent health and medical challenges, their ability to support me financially has become more limited. As my training and competition demands continue to increase, I’ve reached a point where continuing this journey without additional support is no longer sustainable.
Contributions of any size will go directly toward training, ice costs, equipment, and other essential expenses that allow me to continue progressing toward the 2030 Winter Olympic Games.
Thank you for your time, your support, and for helping keep this dream alive.
— Jonathan
