I am a dance major/member of the Second Avenue Dance Company at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, pursuing a minor in music through NYU Steinhardt. Giada Ferrone, director of the company, has developed a one-of-a-kind (believe me) music program for dance accompanists in conjunction with her already magical collaborative dance program in Florence, Toscana Dance Hub. Being a dance artist who has recently been able to begin his pursuits in forming collaborative relationships with my colleagues as a composer and accompanist, the timing of the debuting of this program with my own personal development is nothing short of cosmic.
I am a strong proponent of the deep practice of collaborative creation, and I know this lifelong exploration can only blossom further if I am able to take part. I only need your help with the flight (first week of July) and housing, and I am more than happy to write, choreograph, and perform for each of you your own specific "thank you" serenade regardless of the level of your contribution!
Above is the first dancepiece for which I've made music (and several times danced) back in 2012 - mishiDance's "Rapid Eye Movement," which you can watch in addition to Mishi Castroverde's other lovely musical works HERE. Since then I have focused on more intimate scores with my classmates at Tisch, which I perform live and are made a bit more genetically in conjunction with the movement invention. Future projects and further experiemetation are on the rise.
