Jonathan Thomson (aka Jig)

I am running the Altra Yorkshire marathon on 19th October 2025 for my mate Jonathan Thomson, aka Jig.

In October last year he received the devastating news that the leukaemia he endured as a child had returned and he began months of intense chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant.

In April, Jig and his family received the news they had all been praying for- that he’s now in a full complete remission.

His road to recovery remains a long one whilst he builds up his new immune system, but he is getting stronger by the day in the hope that one day he can return to his golfing career.

I am running the marathon to raise money to support Jig, his wife Liv and daughter Susie whilst they navigate their way through this difficult time.
